Audition Registration for Classical Symphony Orchestra
(graduate and undergraduate college level and older musicians)

The Classical Symphony Orchestra is a high-level training orchestra for college and graduate students and older musicians and has two seasons:

Fall Season: September through May
Summer Season: Mid-June through July (6 weeks)

 

Formal auditions for all instruments are held at the following times of the year:

Fall Season: Early September
Summer Season: Early June

Audition information is mailed out one month before formal auditions are held. An audition registration form is included with that information, which must be completed and returned to The Classical Symphony Orchestra. Once the registration form is received, and audition date and time is assigned, and auditionees are notified by email of the date and time of their audition.

Audition Fee: $25.00

Auditions are conducted by professional musicians.

 

 

Private Auditions During Season

Throughout each season, sectional openings may exist in The Classical Symphony Orchestra. The procedure for auditioning during any given season is as follows:

Interested players can use this FORM, or contact Joseph Glymph, Music Director to inquire about the current openings in The Classical Symphony Orchestra. If an opening exists, Maestro Glymph will arrange a private audition at a mutually convenient time. If accepted, the player is eligible to begin playing with The Classical Symphony Orchestra immediately.

Audition Requirements

One movement of a concerto or concert piece demonstrating technical and expressive playing with instrument, selected orchestral excerpts and sight-reading. Specific orchestral selections listed on brochure or click here.
